Make these higher protein, savory and tangy breadsticks made with a few staple ingredients; perfect for an appetizer, side, or snack!

These high-protein breadsticks with feta cheese and sundried tomatoes are soft, fluffy, and made with simple kitchen staple ingredients. No yeast is required, and the dough needs only a short rest time, so you can make a fresh batch of homemade breadsticks in just 1 hour. They are perfect as an easy side dish for soups, stews, salads, and pasta, and also work well as a dipping bread for olive oil, hummus, or dips.

This recipe is easily customizable and can be made with a variety of different fillings. The combination of feta and sundried tomatoes is classically Mediterranean, but you may add, omit, or substitute the fillings to match your flavor preferences. Some other ingredient ideas include olives, jalapeños, cheddar, spinach, nuts, dried fruit, and more.

Made with Greek yogurt, these breadsticks are naturally higher in protein and also provide calcium and vitamin D. Using Greek yogurt in bread dough is a simple baking hack that helps create soft, tender baked goods without yeast. Greek yogurt works in bread recipes because its acidity reacts with baking soda or other leavening agents to help the dough rise. Its thick consistency adds moisture without making the dough sticky, while its proteins help improve structure and tenderness in the final bake. This Greek yogurt dough method isn’t just for breadsticks; you can also use it to make flatbreads, scones, pizza dough, and quick bread loaves. It’s a fast and reliable way to make soft homemade bread with minimal ingredients and effort.
