Oats are one of my favorite budget-friendly, nutrient-dense ingredients because they are rich in fiber and provide important nutrients such as phosphorus, thiamine, magnesium, and zinc. The fiber in oats helps slow digestion, promotes fullness, and can help lower cholesterol by binding to it and supporting its removal from the body. For around $4, I can buy a 64-ounce container of rolled oats and make countless delicious recipes with it!

Yogurt is an excellent source of protein and calcium, both of which are essential for building strong bones and maintaining muscle mass. This is especially important for children, who have increased nutrient needs during periods of rapid growth. Combined with oats and fresh fruit, yogurt helps create a balanced breakfast that is both nourishing and satisfying.
